Jegan receives visits from representatives of the Foral Treasury and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council

Jegan's facilities in Itziar were dressed up on 11th July to receive representatives from the Treasury and the Provincial Council of Guipuzcoa. During their visit, Unai Andueza, director of Economic Promotion; Irune Yarza, director of the Treasury; and Anabel Yoldi, head of the ASLE Gipuzkoa delegation, had the opportunity to learn in-depth about the die-casting process and the many benefits of zamak, a fundamental material in our production. For the Jegan team, it has been a pleasure to share details about our work and to promote the values of Basque worker-owned companies and social economy enterprises.

Die-casting and benefits of zinc alloy

The day began with a welcome from the Jegan management team. The representatives of the Treasury and the Provincial Council were guided through the different applications of zamak and how, although it is a little-known material, we are in direct contact with products made with it every day.

Die-casting with zinc alloy is a controlled process that ensures the production of components with strict dimensional tolerances and high repeatability. It is the ideal method for mass-producing complex parts, combining mechanical strength and dimensional stability. During the demonstration, aspects such as alloy preparation, mould design, and injection technology were highlighted, allowing visitors to understand Jegan's competitive advantages in the market.

Moreover, the importance of zinc alloy in the automotive industry and other industrial applications was emphasised due to its low melting point, which allows for longer mold life and reduces production costs. The representatives also had the chance to see examples of final products showcasing the diverse applications of zinc alloy, from decorative pieces to high-strength structural components. Jegan's ability to adapt to the specific needs of its customers and offer customized solutions was another point of interest during the visit.

Jegan, part of the basque labour society system

One of the visit's highlights was the opportunity to promote the Basque labour society system and social economy enterprises. At Jegan, we believe in an autonomous, transparent, and participatory management model; hence, every employee can participate in decision-making, fostering an inclusive and democratic work environment. This model enhances team motivation and commitment and ensures more efficient and responsible resource management.

Other crucial aspects are internal promotion and local development. By investing in the training and development of our employees, we not only boost their professional growth but also contribute to the local community's economic development. The Treasury and Provincial Council representatives showed great interest in these benefits, recognising the importance of supporting business models that generate value for employees and the community.

Additionally, we highlighted our commitment to generating stable and high-quality employment and implementing policies that favour work-life balance, resulting in a more satisfied and productive team. Through our social economy model, we ensure the provision of jobs that are not only secure but also give our employees a sense of belonging and purpose. This approach benefits our team and strengthens the local economy by creating sustainable and responsible jobs.

Jegan, zinc alloy die-casting

It was a pleasure for the whole team to welcome the Treasury and Provincial Council representatives to Jegan, and we would like to thank Irune Yarza and Unai Andueza for their treatment, understanding and closeness. We feel honoured to have had the opportunity to show them the day-to-day results of our work as a zinc alloy foundry. This type of meeting is essential to continue promoting business models that benefit individuals and the community.
